Apart from Remedial and Sports massage, I am qualified in other fields....

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage draws from the Ayurvedic system of healing used in India for over 1000 years. When introduced to the West, it was adapted to incorporate a massage of the shoulders, arms, hands, neck, head and face, all performed in the seated position, without the need to remove clothes. Each treatment is usually 30 to 40 minutes. Optionally, oils may be used on the scalp.

What do people say about the benefits of this form of massage - "profound relaxation, relief from headaches, tranquility ..."

Holistic Massage

Yes this can be a back massage, facial massage, full body massage, incorporating the techniques of Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massage, but it is much more. This is taken from an article published in Massage World. "Holistic Massage is a nurturing process of touch and response. Treatments are adapted to each client's needs, physical characteristics and personality. The therapist massages the person not just the body, working 'with' you, rather than doing it 'to' you. This contrasts with other massage approaches, which may seek to 'sort out' the client, regarding symptoms as problems to be fixed. Such a reductionist approach treats only the body not the whole person"

Hot Stone Massage

For this therapy, special basalt stones with high iron content are heated to around 80C in hot water, then cooled slightly to avoid burning the skin while still retaining heat in the core of the stone. The stones are then used to massage the body. This combines a very relaxing massage with the soothing heat of the stones.

Unlike some hot stone massages, the stones are not simply just placed on the body. They are used to massage the body, sometimes quite superficially, but also for a much deeper massage if requested.

The combination of heat and massage is perfect for relieving tension and muscle aches. Many people find this therapy to be the most relaxing and a reliable therapy to reduce stress and anxiety, also promoting better sleep patterns and accelerating healing.
